A CNC door relief file (also called a 3D relief file or door relief model) is a digital 3D design file used specifically for carving decorative patterns, motifs, borders, floral designs, traditional artwork, geometric shapes, or embossed/raised elements onto wooden doors (main doors, interior doors, teak wood doors, etc.) using a CNC router or CNC carving machine.
What it actually contains / does
It represents a bas-relief (low to medium height 3D sculpting) — the design rises slightly from the flat door surface (usually 3–12 mm deep depending on the file and material).
The file guides the CNC machine to remove material selectively, creating raised (embossed) or recessed decorative effects.
Common uses: main entrance doors, temple/mandir doors, furniture panels, wall panels, or luxury interior wooden doors.
Common file formats for door relief files
.rlf — ArtCAM relief file (very popular for older/newer ArtCAM versions, especially in India for door carving shops).
.stl — Standard 3D mesh file (works with almost all modern CNC software like Aspire, Fusion 360, Type3, JD Paint, Ucancam, etc.).
Sometimes .art (ArtCAM project) or combined 2D+3D files.
